Cat up a tree?
Contrary to legend, most fire departments will not rescue cats out of trees. Instead, tree service companies usually are hired to help. For more information:
- The Oregon Humane Society's Cat in Tree Information Sheet, which includes a list of arborists and tree services statewide that can help.
- Seattle-area arborist Dan Kraus founded Cat in a Tree Rescue Service and offers a nationwide directory of tree service providers who rescue cats stuck in trees.
