Cleaning (Especially Needed)
Socializing (Waiting LIst)
Helping with fundraisers
Newsletter writing and publishing
House of Dreams Volunteer Requirements
If your interests and schedule match current openings, a House
of Dreams volunteer coordinator will get back to you as soon as
possible; this may take as long as a week. You will then be invited to
attend a Volunteer Orientation, typically held on one weekday and one
weekend day per month.
At least 18 years old.
Able to squat, bend, twist, lift, or stand for long periods when
working directly with the animals.
Possess good communication skills, as all volunteer positions
involve working as a part of a team with other volunteers.
Complete a volunteer application, attend an orientation, and go

Must be able to handle cats safely and compassionately.
Must be able to take and seek direction and have a
self-motivated work ethic.
Must be able to work independently.
Have reliable transportation to the shelter (vehicle,
bicycle, mass transit, walking).
